I live in the sunny, southwest region of the U.S. I’m married, a creative introvert and a life-long learner. As a former early childhood educator, I will always be a
teacher in my heart and soul. I’m a low maintenance woman and a “figure-it-out-ologist.”
I believe imagination, creativity and humor are necessities of life and that age is just a number. I refuse to become invisible as I age. How about you?
When I began contemplating leaving my teaching position at my local university, I started to seriously think about what the next phase of my life would look like. Was I going home to a quiet retirement routine? Or, was I was ready to explore
new opportunities? I definitely wanted a healthier work/life balance.
Midlife can be a bumpy road for women to travel alone. Health issues, changes in family relationships and career options are just a few of the issues women juggle in midlife. I was determined not to become an example for midlife depression in women. I did know the road would be smoother if traveled with friends and like-minded support groups. So, I began working on improving my work/life balance and I began seeing a counselor to help me with childhood trauma issues that I thought were in my past.
